I too have been looking for a William Jordan for over 10 years. He too was born in 1830. He lived in Western North Carolina from 1860 until he died in the early 1900's. I have not been able to find his parents, his siblings, or his place of birth. These Jordan's sure are elusive characters. I just keep hoping that somewhere, sometime, it will all come together. Cindy
