Collene, and List: Would you or any one on this list know if any of the below mentioned families have any Tennessee or VA connections to those area's Daltons? The Dalton/Daulton/Dolton surname (families) were in VA and TN near the Jordans and most likely there would have been some marriages. Time frame I need is mid to late 1700's and into 1800's up to 1850. Actually any Tennessee Dalton information would be helpful for me. I attended a convention in Fort Smith, Arkansas (Coffee/Coffey) and there was a representative of the east TN Dalton lines, these lines having a beginning in VA early on. This gentleman's Dalton lines are well represented in my own Coffey lines, and it is my Caswell Coffey who did marry the unknown Jordan lady c 1829. Caswell's daughter Elizabeth b c 1858 did marry into this man's Dalton lines but he and I are connected much earlier, mid 1820-1830 to a couple of other "unions". I have been doing genaology since 1982 on my Mount, Williamson and Witherington lines, as well as, Jordan. I have the name of the book and the name of the person that wrote it. I know things are very hard to prove that is why it takes so long, but I am still checking. Mrs. Perry's son, Theo Dalton, was my school teacher and he became a College Professor and this Octavia Jordan Perry was his grandmother and I am sure that they did a lot of research before writing that book. Thank you for writing and I am still going to research Silas Samuel Jordan as much as time will allow. Collene --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
