In the 1880 Marion Co., Iowa census, I found Sarah Bristow, a widow age 28, born in Illinois (father born in Indiana, mother born in Missouri). I believe this is Sarah Elizabeth Jordan who married William J. Bristow in 1870 (his father, I believe, is Daniel Bristow). There were three sons with her: Charles age 9, James age 5, and Frank age 2. They were living with Sarah's grandparents, Clinton and Sarah Davis. If Sarah's maiden name was Jordan, then her mother's maiden name must be Davis. I am hoping someone out there knows which daughter of Clinton and Sarah Davis was Sarah Elizabeth Jordan's mother - and I would also like to know who was her father.
