Ella- My GG Grandmother was Ella Proctor, b. 25 Oct. 1861, d. 8 Nov. 1936. (North Carolina) She married C. Smith (Mitt) Jordan b. 23 Feb. 1855, d. 12 Feb. 1929, Married in or bef. 1873. She was only 12 when they wed! Their children were Curtis, Maggie, Claude and Leon (my G Grandfather). My Grandmother is still living - Her name is Ella Marie Jordan Owens. I am at a brick wall with my Ella Proctor Jordan....I cannot seem to find anything except her tombstone. She and Smith are buried at Peoples' Chapel Cemetary near Wilson, Elm City, NC off Highway 301. I do have a photo of her though. It is on my website www.geocities.com/ncproctors I am also at a brick wall with my Robert Floyd Owens. He married Annie V. Windham and they lived in Fountain, Pitt Co, NC. My Grandpa is still living - he was born in 1924. I think Robert and Annie got married in Pitt Co. I have not been to the Pitt courthouse yet....I plan to go next week if I can.
