I am looking for information on James Jordan (Jerdin), born 1825 in NC, married to Caroline McRee, 1856, in Clark County, MS. I do not know James' parents names. The 1880 census from Clark County MS listing James' and Caroline's family has the parents of James being born in Virginia. James and Caroline had 7 sons and 1 daughter, all listed in the 1880 census except for Chandler who was either away from home or deceased by that date. The children's names are: James F. Jordan b.1859 Rufus Monroe Jordan b. 1865 Willis H. Jordan b. 1867 Joseph N. Jordan b.1869 George Eddie Jordan b.1872 Minnie F. Jordan b.1873 Ledger Jordan b. 1880 James Jordan is also named as the bondsman at the wedding of Daniel Barlow and Charlotte McRee in 1867, Pierce Springs MS. This information is found in the Branson Barlow genealogy. I hope someone else may be searching this line of Jordan's. (always pronounced Jer din).
