Yes, Bob, I believe you are right and I haven't done much digging on it yet, but I do appreciate the help you have given me in the past. I do want to connect to the correct ancestors (and new cousins!), so I appreciate being told if I have it wrong. This is why I'd like to see a cousin from the Elias lines to test for us. If I could, I would, but it doesn't quite work since I'm female! <grin> I don't know any males on the lines. I can prove my lines back to Elias. I just need more time to prove something for Elias to his parentage. There does seem to be evidence of his brothers and his father in IL. Whether it is the Thomas Jordan of Granville, I don't know. I will look through the archives again. My Elias had children named: William, Moses, Sarah, Elijah, Mary, Thomas, James, & Nancy. It seems rather interesting that he named a son Thomas and a daughter Mary. I know they are common names, but they are the names of the parents I have listed for him. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. NC. That still stands. You mention Roanoke Rapids, Granville Co. NC - which actually would be in Northampton Co. NC (northwestern corner). Close, but Roanoke Rapids was never in Granville Co. If this were true, you would be connected to the Arthur Jordan line, but this is "false" genealogy - set up wrongly many years ago. Same goes for the Over Jordan connection to a man in IL. Same goes for any connection to Jordan in Gatwick, Surry, England. All of this can be found in the Jordan List archives. The DNA results should be interesting. If true, then the Over Jordan and Elias Jordan DNA should match with the Arthur line. Bob Jordan Date: Thu, 24 Oct 2002 15:32:22 -0700 From: "Tina Hall" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] I would like to know if anyone tests from the lines that go back to William Jordan (1570, Gatwick, Surry Co., England) m. Catherine Hussey. I believe I descend from this line, however, I cannot prove all the way back to William yet. Someone once questioned my connections from Elias Jordan (m. Rachel Cass) to his supposed father, Thomas Jordan and Mary unknown from Jordan's Creek, Roanoke Rapids, Granville co., NC. I'm still looking for proof of Elias' connection to Thomas and Mary Jordan.
