    3. Is this William the William of Triune in Williamson Co., Tennessee? I ask because a distant relative in my Jordan line identified my William Jordan as the "Triune Jordan" (incorrectly). 3. Dear Rachel, I have no idea as this was in a box of old memorabilia belonging to my grandmother which she gave to my aunt and which my aunt gave to me. I would imagine that her mother, Leila Wetona PRINCE either had this or was given this by her mother, Martha Gaines JORDAN. I think my grandmother must have copied it as it is written on an old piece of insurance company stationary and I recognize the name on the stationary as belonging to a friend of hers. It is typewritten on an old typewriter as my grandmother died in 1941 in Birmingham, Ala. I wish I could be of more help but this is all I know. My grandmother's grandmother could have dictated this to her. I just hope it will help someone. Thanks for inquiring. 2. I still wish I could figure out where my Gray Jordan plays into all this. I cannot connect him with these families although he is in the same area at similar times and Gray is not common as a first name. It is not the Gray Jordan connected to Penelope Hargrove/Hargrave--that is a much younger Gray Jordan in another state. Mine is in MS in the 1800'd--married Margaret Chandler in Franklin County, GA in 1816 prior to the move to MS. Kathy

    1. Jordans of Maine, and associated families
    2. Candy and Bruce
    3. I'm having another whack at attempting to identify the family for Maria H. Jordan, born "about 1750", probably in Maine (died 1827 Mariaville) one clue is, she used a middle initial of H., and named one son Joseph H. Jellison now ... what surname might that H stand for ... Hanscom(b).Hanscum ? Hovey ? Hadley ? Higgins ? Hagen ? Hill ? Haines/Haynes ? Ham ? Heard ? Haley ? Hamlin/Hamblen/Hamilton ? Hutchins ? Hopkins ? what other "H" names were there, associated with the Jordans, and perhaps the Jellisons; in Biddeford, in Union River, in Falmouth/Cape Elizabeth ... or in Kittery/Berwick/Dover ? another horrible thought ... the cursive N is sometimes mis-transliterated as "H" ... what N names are there in this constellation ... perhaps Nason ? this "H' might stand for her maiden name, it's possible she married a Jordan, rather than being born one -- it's also possible that her name was not Jordan at all anyone have any bright ideas ? Candy
