From the way JORDAN/JOURDAN is spelled on the census you found it is pronouced like my ancestors as JOURDAN. Would you happen to know what the H. stood for in his name?     3. I had earlier today asked for a lookup in the Census (probably the 1900 one, I don't know if she was still a Jordan then or already married to John L. Carney) for Katie Jordan, born 1883, probably in Louisiana. I'm trying to find who her parents and siblings were and ran across a little more info.     3. I'm trying to find any information about Kate (Katie) Jordan, born Aug. 22, 1883, possibly in Louisiana. She married John L. Carney before 1904 and they lived in Louisiana, mostly in the 5th Ward which includes (I think) Natchitoches Parish. I can't connect Katie to parents or siblings, I don't have access to the censuses...if anyone could do a lookup for me I would greatly appreciate it.

    3. My Jordan line is stuck, like so many, in Georgia. The ancestor is Wiley Henry Jordan (@1818-1865) who married Lucinda Bond (1819-1870). The family had some collatoral families, Carroll, Shell, and Redwine, with whom they made a wagon train trip to settle in Texas. Any connections out there? Any new info on the family??     2. I would like any information about James H. Jordan, b. 11-20-1879 in Dallas or Wilcox County, Alabama. He was the son of Ephraim Jordan and his first wife Julia Phillips, James H. Jordan married Nettie Tucker 12-14-1902 in Marengo County, Alabama. James. H and Nettie had the following children: Roy Jordan Bonnie Pearl Jordan Beretha Jordan Marie Irene Jordan Ace Gordon Jordan Joseph Cecil Jordan Dorothy Jordan David Wayne Jordan At some point James and Nettie moved to Grimes County, Texas. They are buried in Independence Cemetery, along with their son Ace Gordon Jordan and his wife Jimmie. James died in 1960 and Nettie (listed as Mattie on the tombstone transcription) died in 1938. I believe he may have been a brother or other close relative to my Zachariah JORDAN b abt 1785 in SC? and died before 1830 in Bedford Co, TN. Does anyone out there have any leads for me? Thankis!
