I see the following still has a fatal flaw in this Jordan line -- copied from long ago. I have the correct children for Arthur Jordan of Granville Co. NC -- and his name was not Reuben Arthur Jordan. I also have the correct children of Thomas Jordan. If I remember right, there might be some evidence that this Thomas may have come from KY. Also, the parents of the Arthur Jordan of Surry VA have never been located -- another speculation that has been taken as "proof." Please contact me if you have questions. Very few people seem to be searching for New Englanders which is where I believe mine are from. Anyway, I need confirmation re parentage of John Rogers Jordan. And proof that he owned the quarries at Lynn Mass. John Rogers Jordan was born February 28, 1806 and died August 28, 1886. Buried Pine Grove Cemetery Lynn, Mass. His parents said to be one of the many SAMUEL F. Jordan and Eliza Rogers. Does anyone have more information? Estelle

> Name of Ancestor: Anna E. Jordan > Birth date: 1853 > Birth location: Davidson Co. TN Name of FATHER: Archer Edwin Jordan > Name of MOTHER: Ursula Jane Whitsitt > Name of SPOUSE: not known > Marriage location: not known > Children: none known > Places they lived: Davidson Co. TN., Burnsville, Tishomingo Co. MS > Death date: not known > Death location: not known > Other facts: Anna was the oldest child. Her brother (my g-grandfather) > James Whitsitt Jordan moved his widowed mother to MS with him when he went there to work on the RR as a depot agent. Anna & James had a younger sister, Mattie E. (Martha?) who was born in 1863 in TN. Anna & Mattie were both unmarried on the 1880 Census for Burnsville. Mattie married a John Powell during the time she lived in Memphis TN. He was a widower with children, but they had none of their own that I have found. I can find no records of Anna after the 1880 census in MS. So I don't know if she died where or when, or ever married!
