    2. Joseph Evans Jordan was born 1880 in Lawrence Co. TN a twin to Annie Bell. He is the son of Jackson Monroe Jordan b. ca 1852 son of Archibald Moore Jordan b. ca 1811, who is son of Enoch Jordan b. ca 1768. Joe married Juanita Poarch b. ca 1886 in the New Hope AL area. Joe and Juanita married in 1904 in Oklahoma or Texas. Their children: Daphne 1905 AL Inez 1907 OK Marvin 1909 TX (living) Ora OK "Rex" died at birth. OK Arnold Guy OK Nina 1915 OK Eustice "Jimmy" 1919 OK or KS Otha 1921 AL (living) After homesteading in the panhandle of Okahoma and Texas and living a brief time in Kansas they returned to New Hope AL then moved to Gravelly Springs AL Lauderdale Co and later to Cherokee, Colbert Co. 1. [JORDAN] Archibald Moore b. ca 1811 NC wf Lucinda Brown
    2. Archibald Moore Jordan was b. ca 1811 NC probably Orange Co. His father was Enoch. His siblings were John (deceased before 1844 when their mother's Will was filed in Giles Co. TN); Mary who married Matthew Dickey in Rutherford Co. TN 1814; Nancy who married James Gibson in Lauderdale Co. AL 1827; William and himself. There was also a grandson named in Elizabeth Stepp Jordan's will Pleasant Harvey Jordan. Archibald married Lucinda Brown ca 1831 in Giles Co. TN. Her parents were William Brown killed in the War of 1812 Tippecanoe Indiana where she was born. and mother Elizabeth. Later, Elizabeth married a James Davidson and is located in Giles and Lawrence Co TN near her daughter (or daughters) and second family. Archibald and Lucinda had children: Johnathon Josiah ca 1832 (went by Josiah) Artemecia Jeptha Jasper ca 1836 (went by Jasper) Parthenia Sophronia Rosalba Orlando Ulysses Cicero Josefina Jackson Monroe b. ca 1852 (went by Monroe) The family was in Giles Co. TN until about 1858 then moved to Lawrence Co. TN by 1860. About 1865 they divorced. Lucinda moved to Wayne Co. TN near her daughter Sophronia who married William "Jack" Hollis. Archibald remarried a Martha Staggs and had three more children: Ralph 1867 Burton 1869 "H" 1871 ---census only shows initials and I can't remember whether male or female. Archibald is still living for the 1880 census and we presume died in Lawrence Co. TN before the 1900 census. Sophronia went out to Searcy Arkansas in late 1800's to see one of the above daughters her Aunt who was known as Addie--which one we're not sure. Her husband may have left her and started another family--we have been unable to find divorce records. Josiah her brother may have gone to Searcy AR for a period of time. Jasper settled in Obion Co. TN after 1860. La Nita Jordan Wacker

    1. [JORDAN] Enoch b.ca1768 m.ca1788 NC wf.Elizabeth Stepp
    2. Enoch Jordan is found in 1790 reconstructed tax records of Orange Co. NC. He was a bondsman for Joshua Stepp and Nicey Dollarhide in 1789 in Caswell Co. NC. Therefore, we assume he was b. ca 1768 and that he married Elizabeth Stepp (Stapp) ca 1788/89 in Orange, Person or Caswell Co. NC. (Hillsboro) There may be some relationship with Robert or Thomas Jordan who appear on the 1779 tax list of Orange Co. NC. Thomas Jordan married Prudence Hargiss. Thomas Hargiss married Sarah Stepp which is proven by the Will of Elizabeth Stepp which was filed in Person Co. NC --she is the mother and her maiden name was Lucas. A Robert Jordan had an adult daughter Mary Clark who received property about 1794-97 and he married Anne Pinkerton the widow of David Pinkerton. Enoch is found in Lauderdale Co. AL about 1820 where he buys a quarter section of land next to his son-in-law Matthew Dickey and a Robert Jordan. This is located near Andersonville AL next to the county of Limestone AL and just below the county of Giles in TN. 1830 Enoch is in Giles and we presume he dies before 1840. The land he bought in Giles was located on Bradshaw Creek--15 acres. La Nita Jordan Wacker Shoreline, WA

There is one idea that Patrick was from Ireland & sailed to America on a ship carrying German immigrants. The information also states that there was heavy migration from Ulster, Ireland to the Valley during the same period that many Germans were arriving from the upper Rhine (Oren F Morton's 1920 history of Rockbridge Co, VA) Anne & Ella, would your Armagh County & Northern Ireland have any connection with my information?
