Hi Natha Lee, Collene & All, In checking the site to see what`s new I saw your correspondence on Cornelius Jordan and wife Sally Baker. I have also been trying to find and connect a Cornelius that is in my line. I believe this one fits. My paternal ggfather Nathan-b1824 and maternal ggfather Elijah-b1818, both in Ga. were brothers and sons of Charles Benjamin Jordan b 1785-Wilkes Co. Ga.. Other siblings were John B-b1810; Jesse-b 1814; Harriet-b1817; Frances-b1822; James M.-b1832. I have most of these lines fairly complete to the present. Chas.B and children came to Al. abt. 1850. They came first to Lowndes, Butler and Pike Co.s. They later came to Clarke, Washington and Choctaw Co.`s.Through my 40 yrs. of research and DNA we now know that we descend from Richard and Elizabeth Reynolds Jordan. Like so many others we pronounce it Jurdan[ as it came from Ga.]Have you seen tthe 1860 Tallapoosa Co. Al. and 1870 Shelby Co. census? These are the children listed with Cornelius a! nd Sally---Mary-Cynthia-Julia- Sarah-Susan and Lovona[added in 1870]. My Nathan named his oldest dau. Cynthia Jane. I really believe that we have a connection here and would like to work with you an/or others on this line. I will be glad to swap info. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for sharing the list of children. My great grandfather's name was William. I do not know anything about his parents but this could help me get started on my search. Ruth
