My Great Grandfather was William Smith Jones born 1819 in Greenbriar Tn near Nashville. Father and mother's names unknown. Smith as he was known moved to Dade County Ga. in the 1840's and lived in that area the rest of his life (died 1911) Acccording to the 1880 census, his father was born in SC and his mother in Ireland. Suspect by his middle name that her name was Smith. William Smith Jones, born August 25, 1819 in Greenbriar,Tenn; died September 24, 1911 in Dade, Co. GA. He married Louisa K. Tate January 24, 1847. she was born August 22, 1829 in 1850 census says Tennessee; died December 10, 1890 in Dade, Co. GA. She was the daughter of Joseph Tate and Elizabeth Levan both of Warren Co. Tennessee. He son of Major James Tate and Ruth Davisson Tate. She daughter of James Bejamin Levan and Fannie ??. Any help with the parents of Smith Jones would be greatly appreciated. GA; died August 01, 1919 in Cullman, Ala; married (1) Nancy Eleanor Smith; born March 20, 1860 in South Carolina; married (2) Martha Louisa Crayton Houts. Moved to Illinois vi. Sarah Ellen Jones, born June 03, 1857; died January 20, 1945; married John Samuel Fleming. vii. Rachel Louisa Jones, born April 11, 1859; died November 04, 1912; married James Passmore. viii. Rufus Henry Jones, born March 19, 1861 in Dade, Co. GA; died May 12, 1864. ix. William Edward Jones, born December 02, 1864 in Dade Co. GA; died March 29, 1929 in Dade Co. Ga; married Willie Theola Ginn October 25, 1897 in Summitt, Georgia; born September 27, 1877 in Elbert Co Ga; died January 04, 1972. x. James Houston Jones, born May 11, 1867; died Abt. 1902; married Healand Smith. xi. Charles Wesley Jones, born June 08, 1869; died March 06, 1920; married Margaret Moreland.

I unfortunetly, do not know alot about my Jones family. Elijah? "Luster" Jones was born appr. 1871 in Elliot County, Ky. He married Anna Jane Cox. This couple had the children: Luther, Fred, Arlie, Nan, Lauria, Gardie, and Claud and all can be found on the 1910-1930 Perry County, Kentucky Census. His son Luther Henry Jones was born on 4/2/1892 in West Liberty, Morgan County, Kentucky and he married Emma Francis Cox b 12/23/1892 in West Liberty, Morgan County, Ky. They had the children: Orbie, Ollie (my grandfather), Odis, Elsie Dean, Ray Asbel, Ova, Warren, Forrest, Catherine, Jewell, James Omer, and Raymond. This family can also be found on the 1910-1930 Perry County, Ky Census. I was told recently that Elijah "Luster" Jones was related to Claib Jones out of Letcher County, Ky. Claib was born James Claiborn Jones from my understanding but I do not know the exact relation. He was a Lawman and feudest. Does any one have a family tree on this Claib Jones?
