Hi Nancy, It's me again. I saw your querie in "Jones". I have a great something grandmother, Eliza Ann Jones, of Tennessee --- that's why I'm on the Jones list. I checked Ancestry.com and found no entry for Anson Jones in the Mountain Democrat. They have no listings for 1898. Did I tell you I found Anson Jones registered to vote in Placer Co. in 1890. There is no Anson Jones in the listing of Placer Co. deaths prior to 1905. This doesn't mean he didn't die there, as this was from an unofficial copy. Also, there is no record of him buried in Placer Co. Cemeteries --- but not all cemeteries are listed and indexed. The US 1840 Census lists Anson Jones's in New Jersey, New York and Ohio. The US 1850 Census lists Andson Jones's in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, New York, Texas and Vermont. That is all I've been able to find for you. Sandy in Sacramento

Re: Anson JONES. There was an Anson JONES in Texas. Was a president or governor or something. Could this be same person or family? In SA there is an Anson Jones MS.
