    1. [Jones] England,S.C., Alabama and Mississippi Jones'

    3. Hello everyone, I'm new to this list. I just found out that there is a Jones list. Very exciting for me. My Jones' originated in England, then moved to S.C., Alabama and on to Mississippi. As for as I can tell the first Jones that I am related to was named Gilbert, born in England in the 1500's and died there. He married Hannah Unknown and they had a son named Thomas in 1620. Thomas married Ellen Hoskins and they had a son named Roger on 6/12/1642. Roger married Dorothy Walker and they had two sons, Frederick and Thomas. According to what I have some of the dates seem unlikely. Frederick and Thomas' dates show that they were born 26 years apart. I show Frederick marrying a Sarah Jane Harding and a Sarah Swann, and they had 6 children. Frederick came from London to either N. or S. Carolina. One of their sons was Jeremiah b. 12/27/1759 d. 5/3/1848 in S. Carolina. He married three times. (1) Elizabeth Mercer, (2)Needham M. Davis (3)Elizabeth Norris. One son was Littleton Jones b. 1797 S. Carolina and moved to Ms. where he later died ( date unk.) He married Dorcas Knotts b. 1794. They had 13 children, one of whom was Jeremiah b.10/25/1822 S. Carolina and d.2/12/1892 in Ms. Jeremiah married Elizabeth Chesser and Ellen Mercer. They had several children, one of whom was Thomas Nathaniel b.1/4/1856 d. 6/3/1929 married Alice L. Dickerson 11/29/1881 They had 8 children, one Charley Willis Jones b. 3/6/1885 in Ms.d. 2/20/1970 in Ms., married Lessie Maude Hall 6/20/1908 and they had 13 children, Ruby Bell 3/23/1909 (living), m. Harry McIntosh, Thomas Jones b.1910 d. 1910, Marvin Jones b. 9/9/1912 d. 4/1989, married Molene Unk., Walter Dempsey (Nub), b. 3/9/1915 d. 10/10/1995, m. Hazel Pope, (my Dad)-John Paul b. 3/14/1917 d. 3/2/1960 married Mildred Mae Heggins., Albert Peek b. 1919 d. 1920, Alice Ella b. 3/2/1921 d. 1/13/1992 m. Albert Paul Ramsey Charley Willis, Jr. (twin) b.4/23/1923 (living) m. (1)Mitzi Height/Hite? (2) Lottie Sue Waldon and Less Jones (twin) b. 4/23/1923 d. 8/26/1980 m.     3. Roger's wife, also known as Dorothea Walker.
