Hi Helen Thank you for your response. I spent the afternoon at the FHL looking at the 1870 census and it was so faded out that I could not tell anything except the surnames on the sheets. All I got was a headache from trying ( smile) the 1860 well, that was no better. Many Jones listed, but I just could not make out any information other than the surnames..... was not a lucky day at the library for me. He should be on the 1870 and 1860 MS census I am hoping that someone has acess to these census records and can assist by looking this family up. Again Thank you Helen Sue JONES-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Subject: > > JONES-D Digest Volume 02 : Issue 413 > > Today's Topics: > #1 [Jones] RE: 1870-1860 census Missi [jnsford <jnsford@sdcoe.k12.ca.us>] > #2 Re: [Jones] RE: 1870-1860 census M ["Helen Harrell" <hoh@netzon.net>] > > Administrivia: > Below is a group of messages recently posted to the Jones list > To reply to any of the messages, send your message to > jones-l@rootsweb.com. > > ______________________________ > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > Subject: [Jones] RE: 1870-1860 census Mississippi > Date: Wed, 13 Nov 2002 05:40:01 -0800 > From: jnsford <jnsford@sdcoe.k12.ca.us> > To: JONES-L@rootsweb.com > > Hello listmembers > > Anyone out there have any Jones family > from Mississippi abt the time of 1860-1870? > > Jackson Pinkney Jones > b 1866 Mississippi > mother : Lena ( short for ?) > father: deceased by 1880 > name unknown. > > I tried to research the 1870 census > for this family, but the FHL film > was in such bad shape I could not > read it.
