I have a William Jones who sometimes went by the last name of Gibson. He was born 1810 in Harlan Co., KY. He married a Mary Polly Bryant. It is said that his Jones line came from Wales. It is guessed that he was the illegitimate son of a Sally Jones and William Gibson. Sally is believed to be the daughter of Stephen Jones who died about 1834 in Harlan Co. KY. Stephen is thought to be the son of Joseph E. Jones of Lee Co., VA. That is the end of my supposing. Does anyone have anything on this family that would prove or disprove my theory???? Rhonda

Hi, How much more info do you have on this Jones family? My husband's Jones family lived in and around Hopking Co., KY. Where they came from and where they ended up is a puzzle to me. I am looking for Nicholas Jones b. 1846, place unknown. He married Eveline Cunningham b. 19 June 1843, place unknown. They married in Webster Co., KY. on 25 Sept.1861.
