Here is what I know: Thomas Jones had at least 2 sons Robert and John L. Thomas was listed for at least one census on the Griffiths family farm in Madison Twp Jackson Co OH. Robert and his son were to have been in Denver either working or owning a mining company. I do have a photo of RJJ. To my knowledge they never returned to OH. Now John J. Jones served in the Civil war. I have a signed photo of him in his uniform. He was a prosecuting att in Jackson Co OH. I have tried to locate his dod and will try to obtain his service record. I am told John may have married briefly after the war. He had a severe drinking problem. Now for what I have heard: There were three children. The two mentioned above and a daughter Elizabeth Jones. It is a descendant of this woman who contacted our Sandra (a family member who compiled our Edwards/Griffiths book yrs ago.) According to this descendant Thomas was the brother to our Elizabeth (nee JONES) Griffiths. It was her farm that Thomas resided at. I now have the marriage record from Ruabon Parish in Den Wales for John/Elizabeth (nee Jones) Griffiths and the bapt records for their first three children from the same parish. I have the parish records for 2 John Griffiths and 4 Eliz Jones from this parish. Upon learning tonight that this Thomas may be her brother I will ask them to ck for a Thomas Jones bapts record with matching parents to an Elizabeth. Hopefully, I will learn who their parents were. Also connected to this Jones line is a Prof. James W. Sauvage. A well-known singer from Wales. I have his photo and obit. I thought I would through this set of Jones out and see what response I might get. My husband is also connected to the Benglog Jones family of Llanddeiniol Dyfed Wales. He has family buried in the parish there. So if there are any takers from that group I would be thrilled to hear from you as well. ~pat(entwistle/gethen/hershberger)griffiths/jones~
