I am the g-gdaughter of Samantha Elizabeth GAMMON, JOHNSON, HICKS, JONES. Yes, she married 3 times. Family stories always said that at the last WHITTINGTON/HICKS Family reunion in which she attended—approximately 1938—held at her daughter ’s home (Zora Ethel HICKS WHITTINGTON my g-mother). Family stories attributed her to saying that she no longer wanted to be called Grandma HICKS—she wanted to be called Grandma JONES. Searching censuses I finally located the elusive Mr. Jones in the 1920 census. The family is listed in the 1920 US Federal Census, Franklin County, Tyrone Township, ED43, Page 181A, line 15, house/residence #4 Of Section 30. Mr. Jones and Samantha Gammon Johnson Hicks were married between the 1910 and 1920 census.
