    3. I have not done research in Kentucky and Illinois. Info obtained from Missouri Federal Census and Civil War pension papers (National Archives.) My Grandfather WILLIAM ALLEN JONES was born Jan. 26, 1861 (1862) in Blythdale, Harrison County, Missouri to parents WILLIAM and ELIZABETH A. (BRIDGES) JONES. He had one brother SAMUEL P. JONES born Dec. 29, 1859. In 1892 my grandfather WILLIAM ALLEN JONES went to California to Homestead Land and is registered at the Land Office in Marysville, California. My grandmother Annie E. Shaughnessey went to join him there and they were married February 13, 1895 in Woodland, Yolo County, California. My GGrandfather WILLIAM JONES served with the 35 Reg't Inf. Vols. in the Civil War. He enlisted August 31, 1862 in Eagleville, Missouri and mustered in September 28, 1862 at B.Bks, Missouri. He died February 21, 1863 at Helena, Arkansas of pneumonia. He was born in Illinois and is listed in the 1850 census with MARY JONES age 49 born in Kentucky and THOMAS JONES age 18 born in Illinois. I hope someone finds this interesting. Bea

    3. Bea, I have found your Jones line very interesting. I really enjoy reading historical books. Civil War happens to be my biggest favorite.
