    3. Hi this is what my Wm Jones looks like on the 1880 census. There is a Patterson there, but looks like it is a first name, unless an error. Wm and Eva C. Beauchamp were married April 1875. then she filed for Divorce in 1877/78, but must have went back, because they are listed with a child on the 1880 census (below). then in the late 1880, she is married to a Charles N. Thompson and young Blanche goes thru her live with the Thompson name. So don't know if there was some hanky panky going on or what!! I did not find Jones on the 1879 census, but I want to look again, as I have a little more info etc Pat Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace Williams JONES Self M Male W 41 CAN Keeps Rooms --- --- Eva C. Plus the racial situation I never know whether I have the right family until I can find something giving me the color of the skin. In todays world I guess that would be called racial profiling, it makes me nervous for fear of offending someone. > > The family started out in New York, but how far back I don't know, some ended up in VA/WV and from there to MO, all of my grandfather's brothers and sisters ended up in CA. The best that I can figure is the the Jones', Morris' and Patterson' were pretty much in VA/WV and all apparently made the trek to MO together for they were in a lot of the findings that I have, and my grandmother was a Morris and her mother was a Patterson. > > I wish I could tell you if my William and your William were the same.
