Searching for a John and Dolly Woods. They are listed in the Sudie Clemmer Collection of Polk County, Tenn. as John Woods and Dooley Davis and having the following children; Boyd, William, Thomas, Lizzie, Priscilla, Nancy, James, Samuel, George, Joseph, Jane, and Benjamin. We have found this family listed in the following census: 1860 US Census, Polk County, Tennessee, Dist. 3, ED ____, Stamped Page 39A Woods, John Head 58 Priscilla Dau 24 Dollie Wife 50 Nancy Dau 21 James Son 20 Samuel Son 18 George Son 16 Joseph Son 14 Jane Dau 12 1870 US Census, McMinn County, Tennessee, Dist. 14, Page 17 Woods, John Head 65 Dollie Wife 68 Priscilla Dau 33 Samuel Son 23 Rebecca Dau 15 Benjamin Son 12 We have not been able to find them in 1850 thus far. When John and Dolly's daughter Priscilla Woods died Benjamin (her brother) gave the information for her death certificate. According to Benjamin, the parents were John Woods and Dolly Jones. Now, this is supposed to be his own mother, so you would think he would know who she was. When Benjamin Woods died his death certificate was filled out by one of his sons-in-law and he gave that the parent were John Woods and Mollie Davis. Is this Mollie really Polly or is she Dolly/Dollie? Anyone have any connections to this family? Any help would be appreciated, Herman Woods Visit me at http://homestead.com/WoodsLegear/index.html
