I am looking for anyone who might have additional information on a TAYLOR JONES b. about 1775/1777 -probably in Currituck County NC. He was the son of Taylor Jones (1732-1780) and Sarah Bonney (b. abt 1747) of Currituck County NC who were m. 1/15/1760. He reportedly moved to Hickman County, TN possibly in about 1817, before settling in Williamson County, TN. Taylor's grandparents were Cornelius Jones (1705-1714) and Elizabeth Taylor (b abt 1709/1715). This Taylor Jones may<??> possibly be the same person as a LEWIS TAYLOR JONES (b. abt 1777 and d. 1858 in Williamson County, TN). Lewis Taylor Jones had a second wife, Martha G. VOWELL (originally married to a John Vowell of TN). I do not know her maiden name (Probably a "G___"). The name of his first wife is uncertain, though it could have been a Martha PAYNE(s). Taylor Jones is believed to have served 84 months in the Revolutionary War. I would appreciate any information on this family or tips on how to get any additional data on his revolutionary service (I have already contacted the DAR). Also, any information on a JONES/PAYNE connection in NC/TN would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Paul
