Edwin: Just type "family crest" or "Jones family crest" into any search engine - there are lots of them around the net. You'll find most of them are pretty small in size since alot of sites that have crests are trying to sell them. I did a quick search and saw several, not all the same either. I really have to say that the 'get your family crest/coat of arms, etc. on a coffee mug for only $16.95' has to be one of the biggest, all-time genealogy scams of them all. Mostly because we Americans really don't seem to understand family crests, etc. A crest was not for an entire surname but given to a particular family of that surname. Only that family was permitted to use the crest. Spinoff's within the family added things to the crest to make them a bit different, like to signify that this was the crest of John Jones rather than William Jones. And don't forget, not all Joneses originate even from the same country or same area within a country-that would make the crest different too. Also, not all families had crests, coats of arms - not to put a too fine point on it but I can't see where a peasant family would have crests, etc. Only the high-born, nobles, etc. are likely to have a family crest.
