Pat, How very kind, thank you. However, I have previously looked at Cinch and didn't find anything that looked familiar. The one thing I would like to find out is if there are Cincinnati city directories for 1910-1911. My Steve Jones might have lived in the Lockland area where his mother lived for a while until she remarried. We think Steve died in 1911, but maybe he would be listed in a residential directory, if one exists. At least that would confirm that he was alive at the time of the directory. I well know how wintery it gets there in Cincinnati. It was beautiful here today, temperatures in the upper 80's, clear skies and light breezes. My husband and I retired here from Cincinnati back in 2000 and I do NOT miss the snow and ice! I live in Darke Co. Our son/wife lived in Erlan and just bought in Ft. Thomas. This is a community for those who love the old. Some work needs to be done on the house, but much. The major project will to be to reopen and reproduce from old oak the open staircase. Behind it hides a beautiful 9ft double pain stained glass with a semi circle stained above it. This beats my 6 foot double pain, I still have the older home and more stained glass. I will ck the directories for you and see what can be found. You are like me the d/c should be at the OHS in Col unfortunately this would not be listed on line due to the date. I ckd for my M. GRIFFITHS with no luck there so that means I have to work through Hamilton Co. I will, however, keep your letter. I am trying to gather my things for my nxt OHS trip. I will be making several in the future. I am limited timewise visits with my dad. I try to do other things in the area to fill the rest of the day. If there is a d/c for Steven in 1911 I will grab a copy and let you know. It may not be until after 30 Mar. I am swamped here and then I dog sit 22 Mar for a couple getting married. I don't travel far when I have dogs here. If you prefer I could include a search for you Stephen with my Mary GRIFFITHS, but they said they did it when they had time as they get numerous requests. Unlike Cin we have had snow, over 4? inches so far. I can't remember what my yard looks like. I think we made out better than the people with the ice. The snow will do a great deal of good in getting rid of insects deep below. Hope is in the horizon, we are told near mid 50's tomorrow and 60's in Cin so it should be a good day to get to the library. I hope. Pat I will also take your letter along and see what can be found. I have finally given up on an appointment for a d/c in Cin. The earliest I would be able to get one would be June. Since I only have one I will just request it by mail. I was really hoping this woman died on a visit to Jackson Co OH. I have her obit from Jackson/and that is what I am after in Cin from the library. I found it listed in the Post. I know they lived in Cleves, and am hoping for some descendants there. I have found some of the GRIFFITHS line in the Cin/NKY area. ~pat~ > -----Original Message----- > From: Carol or Cliff Jones [mailto:Jonesy6iron@earthlink.net] > Sent: Thursday, March 06, 2003 11:40 PM > To: JONES-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [Jones] Steve Jones
