    3. The info out there is only as good as the informant giving the info. The info on the LDS site for my husband's maternal JONES/GRIFFITHS lines have numerous errors. But the person who gave the info gave it with the best of intentions. I used her info along with my first hand knowledge to compile a 4 cd set of records and family info on my husband's maternal JONES/GRIFFITHS family. You also have to consider misinformation on documents such as a d/c for a John Richard GRIFFITHS I have obtained from the OHS. His wife was the informant and listed his mother correctly, but has his grandfather listed as his father. As for my records they are color coded with for colors each of the for indicates: information I have documentation on, partial information is verified, information not yet proven and a color that indicates a person is still living and if I have info on them it is not given out. I contacted the LDS and informed them of that the errors were numerous and asked what I could do to correct this information. They told me that I could send them an updated record via snail mail, but the site was under construction so they would be while before entering any new info. JONES #1 My husband's two JONES lines are maternal: Elizabeth JONES b. 1805 Wales m. 1822 Ruabon Den Wales John GRIFFITHS b. 1799 N. Wales. This couple had 3 sons in Wales bapt at the same parish prior to their move to Pitt PA in 1828. While in Pitt John was part owner of a coal mining operation saving to buy farm land in Jackson Co OH. This farm remained in the family until their ggrandson was no longer able to care for in and no other descendants took on the responsibility in 1975. I have the family bible, hand written deeds, wills and numerous documents all entered. I have the family info on my husband's mother's family. I am currently working on the other children of John/Elizabeth (nee JONES) GRIFFITHS. Elizabeth had a brother or cousin Thomas JONES with at least 2 sons: John JONES/Robert JONES John JONES severed in the civil war and was a prosecuting att in Jackson Co OH. I have a signed photo of him in his uniform. Robert JONES along with his son Robert JONES Jr went to Denver Co. I have some info on each of these two men. I have a photo of RJjr in the doorway of the DENVER POST doorway which should get me close to a yr he was there. There is also a possibility of Thomas JONES having a daughter Elizabeth JONES no info on her as of yet. She is still a rumor. JONES #2 My husband's paternal JONES are from the BENGLOG farm in Llanddeiniol Dyfed Wales. I have some info on this family and am just getting it into file form, scanned and entered. David B. JONES m. Mary JONES of Palmon had two girls. Mary and one daughter died there in 1829 and buried at either Benglog or Llanddieniol Parish. David's father also David JONES is suppose to be buried at Benglog. David B. JONES m. Ann EVANS of Llansanffraead at Llansanaffraead (sp) Anne was the d/o John EVANS/Sarah (Mary) DAVIS. John is to have been of Llansanffraead. I have some info on this line as well. Anne had a brother who came over as well Lewis with a famous descendant "Bob Evans" of restaurant fame. David did have a bro Thomas JONES who remained in Wales. Thomas JONES m. Mary LLOYD and had a daughter Margaret I believe I have some on this family as well. If either of these lines sounds familiar please shout more than happy to find new family and new information. ~pat(entwistle/gethen/hershberger) griffiths/jones~ > -----Original Message----- > From: Rhonda Chesnutt [mailto:jchesnut30@msn.com] > Sent: Friday, February 21, 2003 12:30 PM > To: JONES-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [Jones] Faulty Data on the Web > > > There's also a lot of errors on the Family History site of the Mormon > Church.
