Well, thanks , Elton! By 1850 my Joneses were definitely in Chatham, starting with Calvin Sneed Baker Jones, 1822-1866. He married Martha Moore Perry. (the Baker is his mother Naomi's maiden name. I'd love to find out who the Sneed was.). Calvin's father was James Jr., Born 1789, married Naomi Baker. I am not sure where he originated, nor his father James Sr.(born abt 1750) who married Sarah Johnson. James Sr's father MAY be John. That's all the info I have.I sure would enjoy having some new leads. I also suspect that the Joneses married Perrys BEFORE Calvin and Martha. Again, thanks! Nancy Jones
