A detailed description of John Jones, "the regicide" is given in a publication called The Dictionary of Welsh Biography Down to 1940. It is published by B.H. Blackwell, LTD., Broad Street, Oxford, 1959. pp. 473 - 475. On page 474 it states that a John Jones, d. c. 1717, "...was the regicide's only surviving child,...". This would make an Edward Jones to VA connection to seem unlikely? You may wish to check this reference as it gives detailed historical documents to help clarify the family of this John Jones.
