I've "rescued" an old photograph of Vernon BROWN of Somerville, California. The photograph was taken at the Elite Studio in San Francisco, CA probably in the 1890's with Vernon appearing to be about 1 year old at the time. Based on limited research and thanks to the assistance of a BROWN Family Researcher I was able to locate Vernon Thomas BROWN b. 6 May 1895 at Somersville, CA to parents Samuel BROWN and Jennie JONES. Vernon married Frances BRACKETT about 1920 and died 18 October 1955. During the 1900 census the family was recorded living in Somerville, CA with records indicating the following information: Samuel BROWN, b. Aug 1849, age 52, married 9 years, b. in PA, parents b. in PA, Merchant Jennie BROWN, wife, b. Apr 1862, age 38, married 9 years, 3 children/all living, b. in NY, parents b. in Wales, housewife Samuel G. BROWN, son, b. Nov 1892, age 7, b. in CA Vernon T. BROWN, son, b. May 1895, age 5, b. in CA Dorothy B. BROWN, dau, b. July 1899, age 10 months, b. in CA Margaret JOVE, boarder, b. Jan 1835, age 65, b. in Scotland, parents b. in Scotland, to USA in 1849 at age 51 I'm hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family.
