NATHAN8 JONES (ASA7, JOHN6, ABRAHAM5, JOHN4, ABRAHAM3, THOMAS2, RODGER1) was born February 11, 1789 in Wardsboro, VT, and died May 01, 1851 in Canton, IL. He married MATILDA SWAN. She was born November 30, 1790 in CT, and died April 15, 1865 in Canton, IL. Notes for NATHAN JONES: From Erie County, NY about 1818, Nathan Jones & his family and his Brother-in-Law Issac Swan pioneered to Illinois a distance of about 9990 miles. They settled in what is now Canton, IL and laid out a city in 1824. Nathan Jones gave land to the church he helped establish & also gave land to the new city for their square.
