I am still trying to climb over my brick wall. My great grandfather, Lewis N. Jones (Lige) was born 5/1842 in TN per the 1900 Grayson County, TX. He died late in 1918 in the flu epidemic. He is burined in the Montague Cemetery, Montague County, TX. At the same time, his wife, daughter-in-law, newborn grandson, daughter, and 2 older grandchildren also died. No death certificates. The county clerk and local genealogy folks tell me that so many people were dying in this epidemic that many did not get registered. Wouldn't you know that my Jones group would be in the nonregistered deaths! What I do know: Lewis N. Jones "appears" in Fannin County, TX in 1870, married Sophia Elizabeth Cummins. They are in Grayson County, TX by the 1880 census. In the 1880 census Lewis N. Jones is listed as Lewis B. Jones. Anyohter mystery to ponder. Children are: Elijah Thomas Jones, born 9/19/1871 Samuel Marion Jones, born 11/3/1875 Marguerette (Maggie) Jones, born 5/1883 Robert Silas David Jones, born 1/9/1886 I have info on decendants of Lewis N. Jones, but am still not able to break through the brick wall and discover where in Tennessee he was born or who his parents and siblings were. If anyone has information, please contact me.
