I have two questions and some background information. Question 1: Does anyone know who the parents of Elizabeth Davis were? Elizabeth was born about 1796 in SC. She married John A. Bates, who was born about 1794 in The Old Dominion (VA). By 1818 or sooner, John A. Bates was in GA. He married 1st wife Elizabeth Alford in 1818 (marriage license). She died, and he remarried to Elizabeth Davis about 1824 (I found no marriage license found, maybe due to fires during the Civil War). Question 2: Does anyone know if anyone has compiled a list of the Davises of SC, or does anyone know who her parents were. Lee Anne
