    3. Dear Nancy, I am interested in your brick wall. I search for Sarah JONES born about 1820. Seems your James Jr. and Sarah Johnson would be the right age for me. Do you know if they had a daughter Sarah JONES born about 1820? My Sarah lived her adult life in the Blue Ridge area of Polk County TN and Fannin County GA. She doesn't have a husband listed 1850 or later. Sarah has children listed on the 1850 census but no husband. Sarah married Mr. Stafford between 1870 and 1880. Does this ring any bells? She's buried (1896) in the Mobile Cemetery in Fannin County, GA. Sharon Boyer Bates Surnames: Falls, HAWKINS, JONES, Kell, King, Lusk, Meadows, McCOY, Roberts, Self, Stafford, and Sayne no more Surnames: Barr, Broyles, DENTON, Hogg, Isbill, Lee, Maze, Mize, REAGAN, Wilhoit, Wilson, Moore and more -----Original Message----- From: Nancy Jones [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, July 12, 2005 1:45 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Jones] Another Brick Wall in NC Here is what I know about my James Jones: He was born about 1780 in the Orange Co NC area. He is said to have been a preacher, probably Baptist. He married Naomi Baker of Orange Co NC, who was born about 1781. If the James Jones in 1810 through 1840 censuses for Orange Co. are my James, then he had TWO wives and 17 children; 10 sons and 7 daughters. The only child we KNOW is Calvin Sneed Baker Jones, 1822-1866, married Martha Moore Perry, lived in Chatham Co NC. Calvin and Martha are my 2xgreat grandparents. James Jones is said to have been a "Jr", son of James Jones Sr. and Sarah Johnson, and believed to have come from VA. A 3rd cousin and I are interested in dynamiting this brick wall. He lives in NC and has access to records, but has found nothing further. I live in Michigan and have access to nothing that isn't online. What happened to those 15 brothers and sisters of Calvin? Did James Jr die or simply move away? Since Alamance was formed from Orange and Chatham in 1849, we have checked the censuses for all 3 counties in 1850 and have no clues.
