    3. I have been reading with much interest the Jones information on this list, practically none of which relates to any in Penna. It just so happens that I have two Jones lines in my maternal side and a Smith on the paternal side. Now, how could one person be so lucky? I have very few results to show for any of them. The information I have (mostly from family history) claims: That Thomas Jones, born in Wales, immigrated into this country shortly after the Revolution and settled in Cambria County, Penna. He married Amy Williams, a member of the Williams family who had helped settle Ebensburg. They had 10 children. Harriet Jones was born November 08, 1841, in Ebensburg. She was my great grandmother. She married Joseph Hepting November 10, 1868. He came here from Baden, Germany. They lived in Pardoe, Mercer County, Penna. and had five children. Their eldest child, a son, born September 14, 1869 (my grandfather) married Anna Margaret Jones. His name was Edwin Alvin Jones. This line has been even more frustrating to me than Harriet Jones, and I wouldn't vouch for its accuracy. This is the best I have been able to piece it together. Anna Margaret Jones, born March 3, 1870, in Pittsburgh, Penna. to William David Jones and Catherine Roll was married to Edwin Alvin Hepting, February 27, 1889. Anna Margaret's mother died when Anna was about a year old. She was raised by her mother's sister, who may have been married to a McCune/McEwen. There was also a "Lizzie" who could play the piano wonderfully well entirely "by ear." I'm not sure of her relationship to Anna. She was supposedly only 9 years older. Anna's mother, Catherine Roll, may have been born in New York and her dad in Virginia. After Anna's mother died her father remarried and had several more children. That's it. I'm sorry to take up so much of your time. If there is anyone out there who can relate to any of these facts, or if anything is unclear, please contact me. I will very much appreciate it.
