I'm stuck on my Jones line with Micajah Jones b. approx 1797 in S.C. - have no more info than that I am trying to check his children and their decendants to see if maybe I can find someone who is related that has some clues for me. No luck in over 2 years. He married Genoa Tate on July 18, 1820 in Elbert Co, GA. I have a copy of the entry from the marriage book, but there is no other information there. I have a lot of information on her family as the Tates have been researched extensively by others. The children: William Green Jones b 1822 , Covington, Newton Co, GA married Emily Francis Chafin, had at least 3 children: Micajah, Genoa and Robert Robert Tyre Jones B 1827, Covington, Newton Co, GA Thomas R. Jones, b 1829, Covington, Newton Co, GA Lewis Jones b 1830, Covington, Newton Co., GA Noah Franklin Jones, b 1834, Covington, Newton Co, GA married Sarah Jane Heath (these are my great grandparents) Jefferson M Jones, b 1837, Covington, Newton Co, GA married Mary ?, moved to Coryell Texas and had at least 2 children: Jonah and Marcus I have seen him called Jeff, Mike and Micajah J Jones. Martha P Jones, born 1839, Covington, Newton Co., Ga. Married Willis Roberts and died in Gatesville, Coryell Co., Texas. A couple of people are researching this family but they have nothing more on Micajah Jones than I do. Columbus Jones, b 1842, Covington, Newton Co, GA (may have died in the civil war) Mary F Jones, B 1844, Covington, Newton Co, GA married William Neely Coleman and had at least 2 children: Ola and Olena. Known children of Noah Franklin Jones and Sarah Jane Heath (married April 3, 1856 - marriage license was from Newton Co, GA, but they apparently were actually married in Walton Co, GA James B Jones b 1858 Newton, Co, GA Henry J. Jones b 1860 in Newton Co, CA married Mollie ? from Florida Tahlulla Jones, b 1862 in GA Laronia Jones, b 1865 in GA Alace Jones, b 1870 in GA Minnie Jones, b 1872 in Alabama William Jones, b 1876 in Alabama Georgia Beatrice Jones, b 1878 in Alabama (this is my grandmother - she claimed she was born in Georgia - which might be true - they were living in Girard, Russell Co, Al in 1880 which is very near the Georgia border.) In 1920 census, widowed Sarah Jane is living in the old family home with her widowed daughter Essie or Emma Barnes. They used nicknames all the time for the kids, so I'm not sure whether this was Tahlulla, Laronia or Alace, but it was probably Laronia (I think her middle name was Emma). This daughter was married to Spencer Barnes b @ 1858 in FL and they had at least 4 children: Johnny b 1898; Edward, b 1891; Ernest H, b 1889 and Frank, b 1904.
