Hello Margie. Wayne Co., KY was formed 1800 from land that earlier was part of both Pulaski and Cumberland Cos. It is now bordered on the south by the state of Tennessee, and the southeast corner is part of the Daniel Boone National Forest. The county seat is located at Monticello. There are a fair number of JONES families in this area. These family groups are discussed in Jones Journeys, Vol. VII, no. 7.4, pp 276 - 277, and Vol V., no. 6, p. 106. The will of a James Jones, Sr. of Wayne Co. KY, 1844, list a number of children, including both a Westley, and an Elizabeth JONES. I would suggest you try and locate a copy of this will. A New Bethel Church is located just above a settlement known as Parnell on KY HWY 92 I would try and find out the denomination of this church since many of the early families moved together as a specific congregation. You might begin by contacting the public library in Monticello. These folks usually know the local genealogist in the area, or know of the genealogical materials in the library.
