    3. Gayle, your helping Sandy was great, but one of the sources you quoted had a glaring error in it and I thought you (& Sandy) might be interested if you hadn't already noticed it. Hope this is helpful --- I noticed what I'd call a glaring "error" contained in your quote from "The John Jones Family Genealogy". The quote said: "...to America... about 1750 with one of the groups who came to Pennsylvania with William Penn." This could be really significant fact, if it were accurate, but it looks like the author made a mistake. In any case: William Penn lived from 1644 to 1718; was unquestionably an important figure in early American history; but had been forced (by his demise) to give up bringing groups to North America long before 1750. While it's beyond question that many (most?) of our Jones ancestors came from Wales, such an error in a reference work would concern me, especially when joined together with "presumably". In "Keeping Up with the Jones" by Inez Jones Johnson, "the first Jones ancestor came from Wales to Philadelphia. Later, the Jones representatives moved from Philadelphia to South Carolina."
