The Jones family I am researching is Alvin Jones and his wife Isabel Blanchard of Poweshiek Co., Iowa. They had the following children: Edward H. b. 1859 Vermont d. Poweshiek Co., Iowa 1941 Mary J. b. 1862 Vermont Addie B. b. 1865 Vermont Herbert A. b. 1858 Iowa Elsie B. b. 1870 Iowa Edward H. married Emma B. Spencer in 1892 and they had one son Ralph E. Jones b. 1894. Ralph E. married Irma K. and they had two sones E. Duane b. 1914 d. 1991and Jack S. born 1918 died 1997. Both sons died in Nebraska. I am looking for living descendants of E. Duane Jones and Jack S. Jones. Edward Jones married my grand Aunt Emma (Emily ) Burton Spencer sister of my great grandfather Ellis L. Spencer. Jean Payton

My Great Grandfather William Smith Jones is still my brick wall. He went by Smith Jones all his life. Born 1818 in Greenbriar,Tenn (not sure which one as there are many) but he was living in middle Tennessee in the 1830's and eary 1840's most likely. Moved to Dade County Georgia near border of Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama in the mid 1840's while working on the construction of the RR between Chattanooga and Nashville. He gave no names for his parents but listed their place of birth as NC for his father and Ireland for his mother. Smith Jones died in 1911.
