Hi, I have a JONES family that was living in Dale & Coffee COs, AL and Stewart & Randolph COs, GA before moving on to TX. Joel was the father to a large family. He was born abt 1779 in NC and while a young man he moved with his parents to SC then on to AL & GA. He first married Cozar ORR in abt 1814 in SC and they had the following children; Henry E., 2 unknown daughters, and Nancy. Cozar died in abt 1827 in GA and Joel married Kissiah (Keziah) ORR who maybe related to Cozar somehow. I just don't know how at this time. Kissiah and Joel had the following children; Cullen, Franklin, O.M. and Elizabeth. By 1850 Joel had moved to Stewart CO, GA and by 1860 he had moved on to Dale CO, AL near one of his sons. It is believed he died on Jan 13, 1873 in Dale CO. or Pike CO, AL and Kissiah died sometime aft 1870. If this sounds like some of your JONES I would love to share information with you.
