    3. Dorthory, Thanks for responding to my post. I've found some references to a William Jones who obtained a 550 acre patent for land near Corapeak in 1693. Loosing Swamp is just south of Corapeake. In 1700 a Capt Charles Drury obtained a patent for 209 acres along Loosing Swamp next to land owned by William Jones and John Powell. So we might have a connection here. I've managed to trace back my line to Joseph Jones who married Amelia Trevathan in 1806. I think his father may have been Demsey Jones. If I can connect my Joseph to your William that would be great. Any help will be appreciated. Hopefully, your cousin, Elton Jones ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dorothy McCarns" <dlmccarns@sbcglobal.net> To: <jones@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, June 29, 2007 12:13 PM Subject: Re: [JONES] Jones families Gates County NC > My Jones line was in Gates County,NC too, went there from VA. 3. Elton, Have you done the DNA test yet? My cousin did the test for me and that is how I found out about William Jones. I have copied a lot of information on the Joneses in Gates County. I went to the Library in Salisbury, NC last month. I will look through the information I copied, I am still trying to process it, so much, so many Joneses. At the least maybe we can sort out these Jones families and see where they all connect. Keep in touch. I'll try to look for your Jones info tonight and get back to you. 2. My Jones line must have moved a lot, didn't stay in one place, Here's the time line I have so far. Abraham born between 1807 and 1810 in Hampshire county, West Virginia (was Virginia), moved to Fauquier county, Virginia and married in 1828 then removed to Coshocton county, Ohio by 1830, then moved to Nebraska and then his final place in Illinois where he is buried. I was wondering about any wills if there might be some somewhere with him listed on it. jamie -----Original Message----- From: susi c pentico <susicp@cox.net> To: jones@rootsweb.com Sent: Thu, 28 Jun 2007 8:28 pm Subject: Re: [JONES] Jones families of Fauquier county, Virginia http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvminera/18104.htm Jones on index 1810 Hampshire CO Elias/ Elizabeth, Ester/John / Joshua /Moses /Peter/ Robert /S /Thomas/ Wiliam any of these could be parent.... 2. So far, I know little about James Jones and Lavina Hoomes.? They may have been married in Fauquier County on September 27, 1802.? They may have had a son, William Jones, who married Nancy Lightfoot of the Culpeper County Lightfoot family.? 1. [JONES] Greene County PA Jones
    2. Willard Anderson
    3. I am looking for a connection to Jacob Jones born 18 October 1794 in Franklin Twp, Greene County, PA. He had a brother John Jones. His fathers name by family tradition was John Jones who was a veteran of the Revloutionary War who had immigrated from Wales. Jacob and his brother John moved west to Morgan county, OH near Hiramsburg. Jacob moved west again in 1830's to Boone county, Indiana and then in 1852 to Oregon. ----- Original Message ----- From: "susi c pentico" <susicp@cox.net> To: <jones@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 28, 2007 10:53 AM Subject: Re: [JONES] Jones families of Hancock co, Tn > SILAS JONES IS A NEW ENGLAND JONES NAME. this is a very large line > if ever put all together Melanie has a great site with some data on > it. Pacific Daylight Time, LDEAA@aol.com writes: Recent posts about the Jones family in Fauquier County, Virginia prompted me to post my similar interests. I am just beginning my research of James Jones and Lavina Hoomes who married in Fauquier County, Virginia in 1802. Anyone willing to share information, particularly sources, please contact me off list. Do you know if James had a brother named John H. Jones and if so to whom was he married? I believe he would be a year or two older. Shari ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
