    3. I have Coleman's through my Line.... Not a Jones Line, but they were from VA. I do know of some Joneses that married into the Coleman Line. I can take a look and see for you. My Line of Coleman's married into the Ward's of NC. But there were lots of Coleman's in it. I can't promise you anything, but I can look. Sherry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Edwin L. 1. [Jones] John W. Jones Family in MO, NE....Needing Help!!
    2. Sherry Jones
    3. I have been searching for this Jones Line and hope that someone out there can connect My Lost Line of Joneses. John W. JONES born bet. 1860-1875 not sure where but possibly MO, died bet 1900-1950 in MO, NE, IA, somewhere out west. He married Mary Freeman born bet. 1860-1875, died bet. 1900-1950 in MO,NE. I am just not sure of any dates on these two. Their son Everett Wellington Jones born 1892 in MO, died in Omaha, NE on 12-26-1935. He married Hattie May Griffin born May 6 or 8, 1902 in Iowa possibly Washington Iowa, died bet. 1935-1940 in NM. they had 3 children:1) Robert Edward Jones born Oct. 26, 1924 in Omaha, NE, he married Dorothy Jean Freelin born in 1924 lives in Omaha NE.(2) Walter Wesley Jones, died in El Paso, TX in 1999, he married Velma Louise (Jones). (3) Thelma Jones born in NE, is living in a Nursing home either in NE or MO not sure. I don't think that Everett is the only child John and Mary had, I just haven't been able to find any other info on them. The Freelin Families that are living in NE and I think MO, are kin they married into some of the Sahan Families of NE and MO. And maybe surrounding States. Also with a Jones marrying a Griffin, Hattie's father Willis O. Griffin married a Annette Jane Condit born in Washington, Iowa, both died in NM. I also know that Everett was in WW1. Needing info on these people to make sure this is what I am looking for...... I have found a Mary Ann Jones born in 1863 in MO, died Oct 1, 1908 in Jackson Co. MO. Now this could be my Mary Freeman Jones I am searching, so I am looking for any one who could be kin to this Mary. She is born around the time frame I am searching for. I have also found a John William Jones and Mary Ann Jones of MO. But no other information on them. Is there ANYONE out there that can connect to either of the above families? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have been searching this Jones Line for the past year and keep coming up with dead ends. Thanks, Sherry Jones

    3. Hi Don, It's been quite some time since you sent the data below. Just thought I would check back with you. Not much luck finding the parents for my James JONES who married Rebecca COLEMAN in 1819. One researcher sent me data stating that the parents for my James JONES was John Hawkins JONES who was born 1787 with wife Mildred R. MITCHELL. They have children: Wyatt Hawkins JONES born 1822, James (being my gg grandfather) born 1801, Mary H. JONES born 1837, William JONES born 1839. After researching this family line some data I found suggests the Wyatt Hawkins JONES was Cherokee Indian. To the best of my knowledge there is no Indian connection in my JONES line. Would like to hear from you if you have more data as of this time. Regards, Ed Jones New Palestine, In. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don L. I have traced the COLEMAN Family back to Caroline County, Va. The COLEMAN line has connections to the FARISH Family also in Caroline County, Va. It seems there was a James JONES in Caroline (or adjoining county), who had sons Richard & Nicholas late 1700's. James died 2/25/1776. It seems Nicholas had a son named James JONES listed in the "Guardian Bonds Will Book E" for Caroline County, Va. for 1772-1798. I'm thinking my James JONES who got married 1819 would fit into this time frame. Robert FARISH is listed as being a witness. Maybe this James JONES who died 2/25/1776 was the grandfather of my James JONES. > > > > Any info would be much appreciated. > > Ed Jones New Palestine, In. > > > > ==== JONES Mailing List ==== > > Direct your questions, comments or problems to the listowner at jones-admin@rootsweb.com > > For detailed instructions on subscribing and unsubscribing visit this site: > > http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/j/jones.html > > browse the archives: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/jones > > search the archives: http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=JONES > > Unusual JONES given names, http://members.aol.com/stjones/jones/oddnames.html > > > ==== JONES Mailing List ==== > Direct your questions, comments or problems to the listowner at jones-admin@rootsweb.com > For detailed instructions on subscribing and unsubscribing visit this site: > http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/j/jones.html > browse the archives: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/jones > search the archives: http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=JONES > Unusual JONES given names, http://members.aol.com/stjones/jones/oddnames.html > >

    1. [Jones] Eleanora JONES
    2. L& L.Shephard
    3. New lister residing in Western Australia trying to follow up a "family story". Eleanora Rosina JONES (nee SHEPHARD) married Joseph JONES in 1886. There were two children of this marriage - Eleanor Maud born April 1887 and Frederick Henry born 1898. Husband Joseph died on 1 May 1900 and according to family story the widowed Eleanor went to Providence, Rhode Island searching for a friend. Being unsuccessful, she returned to the U.K. The two children were both married in England - Eleanor Maud in July 1919 and Frederick Henry in 1924. I am guessing therefore that the family would have been in the States sometime between May 1900 and July 1919. I have searched the Ellis Island records without success. Neither can I find the family on the 1901 U.K. census. Any help would be appreciated. It would be great if there is someone "out there" also researching this family! Les Shephard
