At this point, I do not know a Grover Jones. And Lisa, I'd have to sadly say that I don't think that we have the same line of Jones. But, with a similar naming pattern, maybe we are connected somewhere further back in time. I'll summarize info on my Anna Jones and add some of her descendants info: Anna Jones: birthplace and date unknown, but maybe near Lebanon, MO. Anna Jones husband is unknown. Her daughter is (other children are unknown): Nellie Belle Detherage b. Nov. 7, 1882 place unknown married Marion Walker Detherage Feb. 1, 1903 place ? Marion was born May 18, 1887 in Laclede Co., MO Nellie died Aug. 13, 1903 and is buried in Ok. daughters of Nellie Belle and Marion are: (no sons) Violet Etta Detherage b. Jan. 25, 1904 Lebanon, MO. married Hershul Raymond Ballinger died Nov. 25, 1997 Sand Springs, OK Florence Elma Detherage b. Dec. 1, 1905 (Lebanon, MO?) married Robert Lee Ford died Aug. 13, 1964 (possibly in OK) May Detherage b. July 5, 1908 Laclede Co, Lebanon, Mo never married, no children died May 10, 1983 in San Antonio, TX Note Violet's middle name - Etta. There is also an Etta Jones. She may be a daughter or sister of Anna Jones. I have pictures of Anna and Etta Jones that I can e-mail to anyone interested. Thank you, Melissa

Who were the parents of Daniel Jones b. circa 1805 TN/NC? This Daniel married Elizabeth Weaver and migrated from Sullivan Co., TN to Adair Co., MO in 1873, where he died in 1880. His children were Samuel, Susanna, Michael, James Monroe (my g-g-grandfather, who married Mary Jane "Polly" Jones), Eliza, Sarah, Martha, Jacob, David "Henry", and Elizabeth. Who were the parents of William Jones b. 1808 TN/NC? He married at least twice, first to Elizabeth Crussell and second to Martha Latture. His children were David, Samuel, Martha, William F., Catherine, Sarah, Mary Jane "Polly" (listed above, married to James Monroe Jones), John A., Edney P., Eliza, Hester, Jacob, Jerusha, and George Whitfield. Most of this family remained in Sullivan Co., TN. Family lore is that James Monroe and Mary Jane "Polly" were first cousins, making Daniel and William brothers. I would be most interested in corresponding with anyone who can connect with any of the above. Glenna Jones Daniels
Willam Jones, married Emma Beebee in 1868. Had three daughters Jessica, 1885, Emma 1889,or 1890, both born in Sacketts Harbor. Maude was born in 1892 in Utica. Emma's parents Charles and Laura Beebee were born in Richfield Springs, New York. Emma herself was born in Sacketts Harbor in 1848. Need help in finding William and his family. Thank you, Sam
My father Paul Jones b. 1899 told me that his ggrandmother Jones m. Samuel Jones b. 1795 MD was named Catherine. Samuel and Catherine had eleven children at Copley Center, Summit Co. OH between 1819 and 1840. In the 1840 Ohio Census there is shown a female with Samuel and children, but she is not listed in the 1850 census when the family is living at Ft. Madison, Lee County, Iowa. My dad's gggrandmother Jones m. James Jones b. MD was named Rachel. Catherine and Rachel were b. in OH or PA. Dad spelled one surname Cunad and the other Kunad. I'm thinking that he spelled phonetically and wondering if the name might be Knade. I found a Philip Knade, Lieut Continental Troops, Roll Box 131 Rev. War Service Records,1775-83. This is what a distant relative told me. I did a google search just now and found a Columbia (city), SC, but no Columbia County, so this was an error passed on to me by a distant cousin. I have never been to SC, so I had no idea. This is my first posting and I'm really hoping someone out there can help me. I have put off researching my JONES family, because I have had no name other than my g-grandmother, Rebecca Georgianne JONES b: 6 Feb. 1865 in Crenshaw Co. AL. She married John Carlton CARPENTER b: 20 Dec 1860. His death certificate lists Brantley, AL as his place of birth. Also, due to the poor condition of the 1880 Crenshaw Co. census , it has been impossible to follow my family through from 1870. I did find a family in the 1870 Crenshaw census with a Rebecca , but she was listed as 7 yrs, and should have been 9/10 yrs. However I have kept the family in mind as "a possibility". Another reason I was suspicious that this might be the family is the youngest child was named "Littleton" which is my grandfather's middle name (John Littleton CARPENTER, b: 30 Sep. 1889 in Elba, Coffee, AL). So, I suspect that my Rebecca belongs to the Harvey JONES family found in the 1880 Bullock, Crenshaw, AL. Thanks to the wonderful job done by the LDS site I have been able to"review" the 1880 Crenshaw, AL census. By the way, Rebecca is now the correct age of 15. Rebecca is living with an A. Jones in 1880 who is 21 yrs and widowed. There is also a Thomas 11, and an S.P. (dau) 9 yrs. Could this A. Jones be a daughter of Harvey? Is anyone researching Harvey JONES b: abt 1816 in GA? He married Mariah, and their children in 1870 were listed as, Andrew 21, Washington 19, Frances 16, Anna 15, Henry 13, Amanda 11, Joseph 10, Rebecca 7, Elinor 4, and Littleton 1. Sandy, Central FL
These names are familiar but not from my Chestatee Jones branch. They belong to the Cane Break Jones of Georgia. There is a book in the Atlanta Archives called my book of Books and it is sold still in Georgia at the Eppy Jones car lot in Jasper Georgia. I am assuming that this is thier family. I dont have the phone number but if your interested I can try to get it. The name Kissiah was in it. maybe you could call them and ask? Nancy
