    3. Hi Helen Thank you for your response. I spent the afternoon at the FHL looking at the 1870 census and it was so faded out that I could not tell anything except the surnames on the sheets. All I got was a headache from trying ( smile) the 1860 well, that was no better. Many Jones listed, but I just could not make out any information other than the surnames..... was not a lucky day at the library for me. He should be on the 1870 and 1860 MS census I am hoping that someone has acess to these census records and can assist by looking this family up. Again Thank you Helen Sue JONES-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Subject: > > JONES-D Digest Volume 02 : Issue 413 > > Today's Topics: > #1 [Jones] RE: 1870-1860 census Missi [jnsford <jnsford@sdcoe.k12.ca.us>] > #2 Re: [Jones] RE: 1870-1860 census M ["Helen Harrell" <hoh@netzon.net>] > > Administrivia: > Below is a group of messages recently posted to the Jones list > To reply to any of the messages, send your message to > jones-l@rootsweb.com. > > ______________________________ > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > Subject: [Jones] RE: 1870-1860 census Mississippi > Date: Wed, 13 Nov 2002 05:40:01 -0800 > From: jnsford <jnsford@sdcoe.k12.ca.us> > To: JONES-L@rootsweb.com > > Hello listmembers > > Anyone out there have any Jones family > from Mississippi abt the time of 1860-1870? > > Jackson Pinkney Jones > b 1866 Mississippi > mother : Lena ( short for ?) > father: deceased by 1880 > name unknown. > > I tried to research the 1870 census > for this family, but the FHL film > was in such bad shape I could not > read it. 3. The 1880 census is online. Jackson's brother Thomas Jones was then age 22 (b ca 1858). This indicates that the family should appear on both the 1860 and 1870 census listings. The baby boy Benjamin is only 3 years old, seeming to indicate that the father of the children probably was alive as late as 1876 or 1877. Franklin Co MS records might even contain an estate settlement. 1. [Jones] Jones - Stubbs Connection?
    2. W. Chris Jones
    3. Can someone give me a clue as to how the Jones line may have interconnected with the Stubbs family in NC or VA before 1770. I found in Wilkinson County, GA's 1830 census: Benjamin Jones Stubbs (1797-1844) who m. Frances Fannie Parker (1799-?) abt. 1821 in Irwinton, Wilkinson County, GA. They had children among them Seaborn Jones Stubbs (1827-1870) in Wilkinson County and Robert Lawrence Stubbs (1830-1865). Benjamin Jones Stubbs was said to be the son of Thomas Stubbs (1770-?) of Capppahosic, Gloucester County, VA (according the Stubbs Book by William Carter Stubbs). Does this Thomas Stubbs tie into any of the SC Stubbs families that might have had ties to Marion's Brigade in the Rev. War? Thank you. W. Chris Jones Roswell, GA

    1. [Jones] John Paul Jones, Jr. & Patricia or Patsy Jones
    2. Hello List, I recently went to a Jones family reunion in Mississippi and found out that my father had been married before he married my mother. I also found out that he had at least two children which I believe their names to be John Paul Jones, Jr., Patsy or Patricia Jones. Their mother's name was Pauline. They could have been born anytime between 1947 and 1950. I have a picture of what I believe may be them from St. Philamenia Elementary School 1957-1958. They look to be between the ages of 7 and 10 years old. I would love to meet this half brother and sister if at all possible. Their last known residents was I believe to be PA. If anyone has any info on these two people, please contact me. Liz
