    3. Hello Everyone, I am seeking an Elijah Luster Jones b appr. 1870. He married an Anna Jane Cox. I was told that he was born in Elliot County, Ky. My ggrandfather Luther H. Jones was born to this couple in West Liberty, Morgan County, Ky. He married Emma Francis Cox. I am seeking Elijah's family. The only thing through family Lore that I heard about his father was that he owned a farm in Elliot County and when he went and listed for the Civil War in the army (unknown) he came home to find that same Army had raided and burned his home. This unknown Jones was suppose to have then enlisted in the opposite side and he never returned home from the Civil War. Would any one happen to know who this family is? 1. [Jones] James William Jones, Marion County, South Carolina
    2. Subj: James William Jones Date: 9/8/00 To: <A HREF="mailto:SCMARION-L-request@rootsweb.com">SCMARION-L-request@rootsweb.com</A> Hi, I'm a new subscriber. My first query is who are the parents of James William Jones? On the 1870 census in Marion County, South Carolina, he is 20 married to Laura Thompson 17. Next door neighbors are the Will H. Jones family 32 and wife Rebecca 29. Children John 10, Mariaha 8, Idelia 6, Laura 2. I feel (which is no grounds for genealogy research) this Will H. is James William's brother. Next door to him is John C. Thompson 46, wife Elizabeth 41, and children Chapman C. 14, Ellen A. 12, Jefferson D. 9, William H. 6, and a George H. Jones 14. Once again I feel this George H. Jones is James William's brother. An uncle George or Harvey is mentioned in family lore. Did John C. Thompson raise these three Jones boys? James William Jones and Laura Thompson (daughter of the above John Chapman Thompson) children were Oscar, Charlie, Reverend Hasford B., Lily, James Frank (my grandfather) Julious O and Testy. The area of Marion County most likely involved is Oakton (present day Gresham) Brittonsneck township. Thanks to those of you who read this. It would be so wonderful if one of you knew something of this family. Betty

    1. Re: [Jones] WALTER COOPER 2
    2. Have you gotten anything at USGENWEB for your JONES? I have found a few marriage bonds which helped me with my Bradys and Joneses, but sometimes you might find things you're NOT looking for that are helpful. Yesterday I found a will written by a GGGGgrandpa while looking for info on my GreatGrandma, who married my GreatGrandpa Wm. Heflin JONES. If you know the county your family members lived in, it will help you a lot at the GenWeb site. Nancy Dale Jones

Several McVay families were living here that moved into the area from NJ about 1778. Peter is in the 1810 census in Morris Twp., Green Co., PA. Tax records show that he moved about 1814 to Euclid Twp., Cuyahoga Co., OH, near what is now Cleveland. He owned a farm. Early records of the First Presbyterian Church show that Agnes, Caleb Eddy, and Benjamin were members. Peter may have had an illness which caused him to draw up a Will in 1828. He died the following year. = Peter Mcvay Family Archive #400 Marriage Index: Selected Counties of Ohio, 1789-1850 Married: Feb 07, 1819 in: Clinton Co., OH Spouse: Martin, Hannah Gender: M More: Family History Library, Salt Lake City, UT, Film # 0568594. = =================================================================Wife's General Notes ================================================================= Possible Connections?: Huguenot Family Emigration to Virginia Page 108=Page 162 Issue of Benjamin4 and Susan (Dupuy) Watkins: i.
