    1. [Jones] Jones in NC & TN
    2. Hi fellow Jones researchers: I'm seeking info on Abraham JONES b. say 1740s? Was in NC until abt. 1779. Apparently came with Robertson party to Davidson Co., TN. Wife's name was KEZIAH, nee unknown. They probably married in NC as that is where children were born. Abraham was killed in "defense of the fort" around 1782. Known children are: 1. Shadrack JONES, b. 6 Sept 1776 in NC m. Celia DOWLEN on 5 Apr 1803 in Davidson Co., TN 2. Elizabeth Betsy JONES, b. abt. 1778?, in NC m. Thomas WATTS on 27 Sept 1807 in Davidson Co., TN Keziah, widow of Abraham, had an illegitimate son by Isaac MAYFIELD and named him Isaac MAYFIELD in 1783. (Proven by court records in Davidson Co., TN). Keziah remarried to a Mr. BERRY by at least 1792 and had these children: Annie BERRY, Mary Polly BERRY, Keziah BERRY and Nellie BERRY. Keziah died in Davidson Co., TN around 1804. Shadrack JONES, as heir of Abraham JONES, was granted 640 acres because Abraham was killed in defense of the fort. This grant entered on 27 Jul 1784 and was issued on 27 Jun 1784, (apparently when Shadrack turned of age to inherit it). Wish to know where Abraham and Keziah lived in NC..... when and where both were born......... parents and/or siblings of both. Also wish to correspond with other descendants and/or relations. I know I'm asking for a lot! Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Judy Lee Watts

    2. Kathi Jones-Hudson
    3. Just a refresher on how to unsubscribe from this (or any) List: 1. Send your email to JONES-L-request@rootsweb.com 2. Put the word unsubscribe as either the subject or in the body of the email. Make sure you have spelled it correctly, the servers are very picky. 3. Include no additional text in the body of your email. 4. Please turn off all automatic signature lines too. Sending a message to the List will not get you unsubscribed; nor will sending an email with additional text. The Rootsweb Servers are very picky and only understand two words. We do not have 'change my email' commands; you must unsubscribe the old address and then subscribe again at the new one. If you have trouble doing this, contact me & I'll help. Also there is no 'I'll be back on xxx' kind of command; again you'll have to unsub and then resub upon your return. If anyone has questions or needs help, please get in touch with me directly. Thanks everyone. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.yahoo.com

When John and Dolly's daughter Priscilla Woods died Benjamin (her brother) gave the information for her death certificate. According to Benjamin, the parents were John Woods and Dolly Jones. Now, this is supposed to be his own mother, so you would think he would know who she was. When Benjamin Woods died his death certificate was filled out by one of his sons-in-law and he gave that the parent were John Woods and Mollie Davis. Is this Mollie really Polly or is she Dolly/Dollie? Anyone have any connections to this family? Any help would be appreciated, Herman Woods Visit me at http://homestead.com/WoodsLegear/index.html
