I know this sounds weird, but my gggrandfather Capt. Minor Jones of Whitley Co., thought he had killed his cousin over accidently touching his wife's ankle while helping her onto his horse after church. Minor & Almeady (his wife) brought the cousin into their house after Minor shot him when he threatened Minor's family. Our story is that the cousin died and Minor left for Indian Territory that night. My grandmother remembers her mom burning the bed the next day and then packing everything to go look for her dad. I heard somewhere that the cousin might have survived. Minor's father was William Jones born 1810 in Hardin Co., KY. Could you give me your line of Jones in Hardin or Knox Co?
