My Joneses are from Chatham Co. NC. Have been trying to tie them to Matthew Jones, the big politician-landholder in that area in the middle & late 1700's. Does anyone have any info on him that might help me? Nancy Jones

Is anyone aware of any microfilm records that I could possible rent for the 1700-1750 time frame in Williamsburg, VA where my John Jones was born 1725. I am also looking for microfilm for Halifax Co., VA for the 1700-1750 time frame where my Wylie Jones was born 1725. I have searched for numerous years trying to locate any information on Wylies bride. John and Wylie are NOT related! 2 separate Jones lines. Is there any books available which would possible have some records. If I have a name of a book, I may possible be able to get them through an Inter-library loan. I live in a small town in TN and our libraries in the surrounding counties as well, have a limited amount of reference books available. Thanks for your time. Patti
Brenda, I am working on the Jones line that runs into Wilson. My brother-in-law dies 3 weeks ago lived in wilson. I am in Wallace. This is the message I received To everyone: I want to make it exceedingly clear that there will be absolutely NO political discussions on this List. There are other avenues for folks who want to discuss the current crisis but this is not one of the those lists. We discuss Jones genealogy and/or issues pertinent to genealogy. Anyone who makes comments about the crisis, the President, impending war, etc. will be removed from the List immediately and will not be able to resubscribe until I can be assured that person will not make any further political statements/comments. Give me a source to check out and a new place to look for my family connections, and I will be glad to discuss something else. You may think you have no need of the VA records in question, but most of our families connect back to VA in numerous ways and the "brick walls" we all have may come down with a bit of info from that very set of documents that they are thinking of destroying. I would love to have as good a source of info in Mississippi, does anyone know of one. Or in Georgia also.
