    3. yes, my great grandfather Andrew Jackson Jones lived in Illinois where he married Mary Montgomery , 1861 .he was said to have been born in 1840 in Scott Indiana . I don't have the names of his parents . A J served in the civil War from Ill. After the war he and Mary and five sons moved to Arkansas , where Mary died later in life and A J died at the home of a son in Louisiana . He stated that his father was born in Ga.. Would like to know why his father would have moved from Ga to Ind. or perhaps the mother moved after the death of the father. Speculation ! > At 05:35 PM 6/21/2005 -0500, you wrote: > >Are there any MD, PA, OH, IL, IA JONES lines reading this list?

    2. I have a John and Jane Ann Jones who came to Iowa sometime after 1890 from England. Their daughter Mary Margaret Jones, met a Orange Fredrick Hoskins, son of William Hoskins and Fanny Huitt. Mary and Orange, were in Illinois for awhile, then moved to California, probably in the 1920's or 1930's. Kelli Clarke

    2. Good morning. My JONES' come from Calloway County, Kentucky. The first relative I can locate is my 4th great grandfather, Burrell Jones, who married Sallie Youngblood. My3rd great grandfather D.F. Jones was killed in 1861 in the Battle of Belmont in Missouri - Kentucky. (The border each other). I have a complete, so far, listing of my family at our web site. _www.jonesbeveridge.com_ (http://www.jonesbeveridge.com) AS you all know this is always a work in progress. I have traced Burrell's father to Wales, but have no documentation at this time, so it is not listed as yet. 3. I am hoping to obtain some more information about my Jones 4th g-grandparents. Much of what I know about them comes from a brief biography of my 3rd g-grandfather Harrison Jones. Harrison was the second of three children born to William and Lucy (Thompson) Jones. He was born 12 Jun 1812 in Maysville, KY. The bio says that William and Lucy were both natives of KY of Welsh descent. I have not been able to find any record in or around Mason County, KY of the marriage of William Jones and Lucy Thompson. There are two William Jones' that appear on census' in Mason County in 1810, but no way of knowing if either of them is him. The children of William and Lucy Jones were: Resin V. Jones b. abt. 1806 Harrison Jones b. 12 Jun 1812 Angeline Jones b.4 Jul 1814 According to the bio, William would have left his family in Miami County, OH and gone to New Orleans in about 1821. He reportedly died there of Yellow Fever. I know that Lucy, her daughter and oldest son went to Indiana after this. Lucy died 20 Jul 1850 and was buried in the Beard Family Cemetery near Owasco, Carroll County, IN. She was 65 years, 9 months old. William and Lucy have been my brick wall in the Jones line for some time now. I could really use a bit of help on this one. Thanks, Bill Jones Winfield, KS Blue Streak [email protected] Why Wait? 3. Trying to establish a connection for my Jones line. I am seeking the parents of my 3rd great-grandfather, William Jones, b. circa 1807. Siblings are said to be: Sarah J., Mary Polly, John K., Berry, and Cely. As far as I know, William was born in Knox County, Kentucky and was married to Phoebe Collins in Morgan County, Indiana. He is later found in the 1850 and 1860 Ozark County, Missouri census. Children of William and wife Phoebe Collins are: Calvin, George, Hiram, Gideon, William J., John K., and Francis Marion Jones. William's father is said to have been born in Kentucky, Co. Virginia Would appreciate any information or leads. Thanks in advance, Paula
