    2. David E. Cann
    3. Okay folks, this is my periodic "shot in the dark" at my MAJOR brick wall, at least so far as the Jones surname goes. Ida M. Jones was my g-grandmother, and we even wrote to each other until she died when I was in my twenties, but I know absolutely NOTHING about her parents or any other ancestors, and only recently found out that her birth name was Jones. If any of this sounds familiar to any of you, I would be eternally gratefull if anyone can add anything at all to this, particularly her parents. This is my brick wall, and after fifteen years of looking, you will hear me shout for joy no matter WHERE you live! David [email protected] * * * * * 1. Ida M. Jones was born in Jan 1867 in Indiana. She lived in Coral Gables, Broward County, Florida before Nov 1966. She died in Nov 1966 in Dade County, Florida. Ida M. Jones and James Ernest Oliver were married on 20 Apr 1889 in Marion County, Indiana. They appeared in the census in 1900 in Center Township, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. They appeared in the census in 1920 in Center Township, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. They appeared in the census in 1930 in Marion County, Indiana. James Ernest Oliver (son of R. R. Oliver and Mary) was born in May 1865 in Missouri. He appeared in the census in 1880 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. He owned a home valued at $3,200.00 in 1930 in Marion County, Indiana. According to Federal Census information, he also owned a radio. In 1930 he was a Foreman in a meat packing company. His given name has been found as Eugene, Earnest, Ernest, and James E., but his correct name is believed to be James Ernest Oliver. His surname in the 1900 Census is shown as "Olliver," but this is believed to be incorrect." Ida M. Jones and James Ernest Oliver had the following children: +2 i. Flossie Oliver (born in Mar 1892). +3 ii. Roy Walter Oliver (born in Oct 1893). 4 iii. Harry E. Oliver was born in May 1898. He appeared in the census in 1900 in Center Township, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. He appeared in the census in 1920 in Center Township, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. +5 iv. Muriel Oliver (born about 1902). +6 v. Frank Oliver.

    1. Penna. Jones's
    2. Wohlgemuths
    3. I have been reading with much interest the Jones information on this list, practically none of which relates to any in Penna. It just so happens that I have two Jones lines in my maternal side and a Smith on the paternal side. Now, how could one person be so lucky? I have very few results to show for any of them. The information I have (mostly from family history) claims: That Thomas Jones, born in Wales, immigrated into this country shortly after the Revolution and settled in Cambria County, Penna. He married Amy Williams, a member of the Williams family who had helped settle Ebensburg. They had 10 children. Harriet Jones was born November 08, 1841, in Ebensburg. She was my great grandmother. She married Joseph Hepting November 10, 1868. He came here from Baden, Germany. They lived in Pardoe, Mercer County, Penna. and had five children. Their eldest child, a son, born September 14, 1869 (my grandfather) married Anna Margaret Jones. His name was Edwin Alvin Jones. This line has been even more frustrating to me than Harriet Jones, and I wouldn't vouch for its accuracy. This is the best I have been able to piece it together. Anna Margaret Jones, born March 3, 1870, in Pittsburgh, Penna. to William David Jones and Catherine Roll was married to Edwin Alvin Hepting, February 27, 1889. Anna Margaret's mother died when Anna was about a year old. She was raised by her mother's sister, who may have been married to a McCune/McEwen. There was also a "Lizzie" who could play the piano wonderfully well entirely "by ear." I'm not sure of her relationship to Anna. She was supposedly only 9 years older. Anna's mother, Catherine Roll, may have been born in New York and her dad in Virginia. After Anna's mother died her father remarried and had several more children. That's it. I'm sorry to take up so much of your time. If there is anyone out there who can relate to any of these facts, or if anything is unclear, please contact me. I will very much appreciate it. Roberta in Southern Ohio

    3. Hi All, My Jones line was a brick wall for YEARS! Mr. Sheldon Jones, and others have been very helpful in getting two more generations back. I am interested in everything.. not just dates but how they lived, and who they were. What made them who they were and how did they help shape who we are. Mr. Jones, it was hard for me to choose a cluster because, well, I just want to know it all. But, I choose C5 because I still would love to know more about my great great grandfather, Jesse Franklin Jones. I'd also love to know more about my great grandmother, Delphia Jones, as she grew up and was raising her family in the "Al Capone" days... and in Williamson County, Ill. One of her husbands lived through that massacre that happened there. She was tough, and a good person, but could kill if need be. I got to meet here when I was about 10 years old, and to this day it's not enough. The family doesn't speak of her, and in fact, I've been told to leave her lay. Anyways, here the names and dates I have so far, I hope I can hook up with someone who knows more about the family than I do. I'd love to see photos of any of the people.... 1. Nathaniel JONES: 1860 Perrysville, IN
    2. Blue Streak
    3. Is anyone familiar with Nathaniel Jones who lived in Perrysville, Vermillion County, IN in 1860? The census shows: 1860, Highland Twp, Vermillion County, Perrysville, IN Nathaniel Jones, 54, M, Farmer Mary 35, F Rebecca J. 16, F Lydia A. 14, F Tilghinaro 12, M John F. 4, M Matthias L. 3, M I belive that there is a connection here with my Jones line, as Nathaniel left some land to my 3rd great granduncle, Resin V. Jones of Ft. Wayne, IN. Other documents also mention my 3rd g-grandfather, Harrison Jones in connection with Nathaniel, but there is no relationship listed. Any help appreciated. 1. Jones-Machdock River, VA
    2. Hi: I was interested in Jerry's information about Jones in VA. My line extends to Nathaniel Jones who was born approx. 1628 - unk. place and died in 1662 in Westmoreland Co, VA - his will and land papers indicating he has quite a bit of property on the Machidock River. I've just never been able to find out where he came from. --Debi
