    3. Hi Sam, I don't have the information to be able to help with your Jasper, and so far haven't been able to find anything more than what I've sent you. With his birth year being 1840, it doesn't look like he is the same person as the Jasper M. Jones that I'm researching. If I run across your Jasper in the future, I will try to post the information. 3. Gee Sam. It sounds like you know a lot more about your Jones than I do about the ones I'm researching. What is it you want to know about your Jasper? Probably the only things I will be able to find are him in censuses, or whatever records Ancestry.com or one of the other subscription-based businesses have online. I'll look in case there's something that will help you. All these kids were born in Bossier parish.between 1836 and 1850. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lee Anne Center" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, October 16, 2005 3:15 PM Subject: RE: [Jones] Jasper M. 3. You know, I just realized that I misspoke. The Jasper and wife Margaret Jones I'm researching had at least 10 children, 7 of which were on the 1870 Beeville, Bee County, TX census. The other 3 children were on the 1880 Bell Co. TX census. Some of the children are listed as being born in AR and others in TX (see my first post). Lee Anne

    3. Sam, It would be great if your Jasper Jones were the same man. Sometimes censuses did list incorrect places and dates of birth for whatever reason. Your Jasper might have the potential to be a cousin, in any case. I've only just started researching these Joneses, so I haven't looked at LA yet, but have thought of doing that. I think that first, though, I'll focus on AL, AR and TX. The Jasper I'm researching was born in AL on at least the two censuses I've found him on, and apparently went through AR to Beeville, Bee County, TX and then to Bell County TX, as some of his children were born in AR and some were born in TX. Do you know the names of your Jasper's children? Lee Anne

    1. RHODES - APPLEGATE - JONES Family Photograph
    2. Shelley & Tomas Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph which is identified as both Mable APPLEGATE and Mable RHODES JONES. The photograph was taken at the Muritz & Pack Studio in Zanesville, Ohio. I would guess that the photograph was taken sometime in the 1890's with Mable likely in her 20's or 30's at the time. The two names don't appear to have been made by the same person, so I'm thinking that one may be a married name and the other her maiden name or it is possible that she was married more than once. Based on limited research I believe this may be a photograph of Mabel or Mable A. RHODES or RHOADS, daughter of Martha J. RHOADS who was recorded in the 1880 census living in Springfield, OH. Martha J. RHOADS was age 35, divorced, a Housekeeper, born in OH to OH born parents. She was living with three children and what appears to be her x-Mother-in-Law; Elizabeth RHOADS age 65 born in Virginia to VA born parents. The children were, Ethell age 15, Mable age 12, and Robert T. E. age 9, all three born in OH to parents born in OH. I find record of Mabel A. RHODES being married to Daniel C. APPLEGATE on the 24th of March 1890 in Muskingum Co., Ohio. I'm hoping to locate someone from Mable's family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    2. Dear jack, This Thursday, I am making a special trip to Washington, D.C. to hand deliver your "Support the Pledge" petition to officials in Sen. Sam Brownback's office in support of the Pledge Protection Act of 2005 (S. 1046). Over the last few years, the Pledge of Allegiance has come under intense attack, but this legislation would protect the Pledge of Allegiance and preserve our right to say the words "under God." + + 700,000 Petitions Needed--by Wednesday! jack, in order to move the Senate to action on this legislation, we need to make a very strong and compelling statement with this presentation. That is why I am urging everyone who has signed our "Support the Pledge" petition to help me rally the additional 6,000 citizens we need to reach our goal! But we need to move quickly, we really have just two full days to reach and perhaps even surpass our goal! + + Action Item #1--Alert your friends jack, I'm amazed that so many people are unaware that our Pledge is under attack. Many have no idea that in three California Districts the Pledge has been ruled unconstitutional! Help me change that... Forward this message to 20-30 of your friends and family. Urge them to take fast action with you by clicking here to sign our petition: http://www.grassfire.org/14/petition.asp?PID=3385011 Remember, by making a strong grassroots showing in Washington, I believe we can motivate other Senators to take the action needed to protect and preserve the Pledge for generations to come. Thanks for taking quick action with me, and using these
