    1. Richard/Miriam
    2. I found this posting recently and have a couple questions about Richard's birthdate and John Jones. Researching: Richard Bright Jones ((1705-1772), m. Miriam Coppock; NC, PA. John Jones (1743-1796), m. Margaret Benson; NC, PA, SC. Elijah Jones (1786-1817)(twin to Elisha), m. Anne Miles; SC. Whitfield Benson Jones (1811-1892), m. Anna Simpson Mote; SC, OH, IA. Laura Helen Jones (1839-1919), m. Oscar Kelsey Lewis; OH, SC, IA, NE. Gayle Willis [email protected] I would like to know, does anyone have any documentation that lists John as one of Richard and Miriam children. I have 24 references, none documented by me, and only one of them has a John as one of their children. I also question the birth date she has for Richard. I have his birth date as 1679 and have him married to his first wife, Jane Evans on 6 Apr 1705 and to his second wife Rebecca Vernon Garrett in 1718. He married his 3rd wife, Miriam Coppock on 12 Aug 1727. This was proven by his marriage certificate. I would like to hear from the group on your data for Richard and his wives. Bob in Broomfield, CO

    3. In my opinion, "no activity" means that everybody is enjoying the Christmas spirit. My Jones line goes like this: My mother Roberta Jones born 1931 in Hall County, Texas died 1995 in Hall County, Texas Her father Grady B. Jones born 1912 in Madison County, Ark. died November 2005 in Donley County, Texas His father Daniel O'Conal Jones born 1884 in Carroll County, Ark. died 1918 in Hall County, Texas during the great flu epidemic His father Smith M. Jones born June 1851 in Prairie Township, Carroll County, Ark and died May 27, 1913 in Berryville, Carroll County, Ark. His father William P. Jones born 1811 in White County, Tn and died June 28, 1876 in Carroll County, Ark. I next have his father John Holman Jones born 1778 in Sparta, Tennessee. I show him to have 2 wives, Nancy Drew, who he married December 6, 1798 and Frances Ancerson; is this right? I ask because I know there are many people out there who share this same line. Merry Christmas to all and may God bless you and yours in the coming year. Billie Molder Millsap [email protected]

    3. I can't put together a connection but it is interesting that there is some other Jones's not so far away. Laurens and Newberry are not that far apart (certainly by today's standards) so it is possible. Parental info for John Jones and his wife Margaret Benson? Perhaps a brother to my Samuel. Of course John didn't name any sons w/ Samuel. The first son (that I know of) for Samuel and Rebecca is John, born 2/27/1792. Other John's do follow in later generations. It is possible.. Is there a Irish or Scotch link?
